EXTRA @ Sperrin College
Extra Curricular Experiences
Pupils have the opportunity to take part in a wide range of extra-curricular activities at Sperrin. The College believes that participation in extracurricular activities helps students to develop social skills, encourages a healthy mind, body and spirit and develops them as confident, articulate young people who will contribute to their community positively in the future.

LUNCHTIME:
If your chosen activity takes place at lunchtime, you should bring a packed lunch. Pupils should not visit the refectory outside of the allotted timeframe for their year group. FSM pupils can collect a packed lunch from the refectory at break time.
SIGN UP:
Some activities have limited spaces and therefore you are required to sign up beforehand. Sign up sheets are available from the teacher in charge of each activity. If an activity is oversubscribed, teachers will employ a fair method to determine who attends.
COMMITMENT:
We encourage pupils to fully commit to their chosen activities. House Points will be awarded to pupils who demonstrate such commitment.

Sport
Physical Education and the use of sport to develop physical health as well as Leadership skills is very important to our College. Our excellent facilities, added to those which are available to us locally through Greenvale Leisure Centre and Meadowbank Sports Arena mean that we have the opportunity to develop many sports that appeal to pupils cultural identity and personal preferences. Participation in After School Sports is strongly encouraged. A large percentage of our pupils get the opportunity to play in a team by attending weekly training sessions. The college has a successful profile in many sports at club, county and national level.
