“It is with deepest pride and greatest pleasure”… that Sperrin Integrated College presents our production of Disney’s Beauty and the Beast!
The sold-out show ran for 4 days in mid-November and entertained over 600 primary school pupils and 900 members of the public who have raved about the talent on display.
Approximately a fifth of the school community were involved on stage or behind the scenes, and the quality of the production was a testament to the school’s moto: Pursuing Excellence Together. This was the Directorial debut for Pearson Award winning teacher, Miss Laura McCloskey who co-ordinated Sperrin’s talented pupils and staff in what was a titanic effort from everyone.
A member of the public acclaimed that the show was: “Simply outstanding… everyone involved should be very proud of such a professional production”.
Another noted that it was an “absolutely amazing show.... blown away by the talent in Sperrin.... congratulations and well done to all involved and thank you for a terrific night.”
Sperrin College Governor David Herron congratulated “all pupils, teachers and everyone involved in putting this production together. Choreography, staging, choir, cast and each lead performer where absolutely amazing.” He noted that he was “very proud to be associated with Sperrin Integrated College.”
Mrs Emma Butler, a former Drama teacher at the school was overwhelmed by what she saw. She congratulated the “cast, crew and all the Sperrin staff on a truly magical production!” Saying that her “daughter was utterly enchanted! Sperrin's best production to date!”
Sperrin College students travel from far and wide to attend the school, and this was reflected in the audience members, who travelled from Antrim, Cookstown, Maghera, Ballymena and everywhere in between to watch the show.
The run culminated in a special Gala evening with family and friends of the cast and supporters and sponsors of the school enjoying a beautiful candlelit supper.
The college is truly thankful to all those who attended and to its sponsors and supporters who made the production possible.
