House System

Sperrin College has a thriving House System which encourages a sense of fun, community and healthy competition in school life. All pupils are members of one of five houses – Dart, Gallion, Iniscarn, Moyola and Sawel. A wide variety of House competitions are held throughout the year covering an array of interests including, photography, baking, sports, writing and much more. The school year is punctuated with different House events and culminates in our annual Sports Day. The winners of the House shield are rewarded at the end of the school year.

Every pupil who enters a House Competition receives 1 point for engagement.

•Pupils winning 3rd place receive 5 points.
•Pupils winning 2nd place receive 10 points.
•Pupils winning 1st place receive 15 points.

Points are added into a House total.
The House Leaderboard is published every half term.

MOYOLA
The Moyolla river runs through Mid-Ulster. Just as a river runs its course, Moyolla House is always in 'PURSUIT' of success.

DART
Dart Mountain, with its jagged peaks is one of the most challenging climbs in the Sperrins, to climb it you need real PERSEVERANCE.

INISCARN
Iniscarn is a small, tranquil woodland of around 320 acres in Mid-Ulster. The House motto is reflective of one of the goals of the integrated movement.
Iniscarn is a new House introduced in 2023 due to the growth of Sperrin College.

GALLION
