5 ICT ROOMS
Whilst Computing is often about theory and how computers and programs work. ICT is more about how we use technology including computers and programs and takes a broader approach and focuses on the way in which digital information is communicated. Young people will use Information and Communications Technology (ICT) skills throughout their lives in commerce and industry as well as in the day to day work environments and Leisure pursuits. Computing skills equip them for a career in the computing industry.
At Sperrin ICT forms a vital part of every student’s developing knowledge, understanding and experience. We feel it is important that all students study discrete ICT every week. This allows students to acquire the cross curricular skills they require to excel in the broad range of subjects offered across the college. It also provides time for the students to experience the ever changing technology and computing world around us.
The ICT results have been consistently high and above the NI Average for A* - C at GCSE.
KS3
